Inspiration

Gazing out the passenger window of a car as you cruise along on a road trip is an experience that unlocks the imagination and changes the way you think about the world around you. But, so far, that’s an experience that has been unique to able-sighted passengers. For those who are visually impaired, riding in a car can often feel isolating, as they’re segmented off from any conversation pertaining to the outside world.

Honda believes in the power of dreams and wants everyone to have a shared experience that connects us to the rich tapestry of life passing by. So, when Josh Loebner, a leader in inclusive design and innovation, realized that the current confluence of AI and accessibility might be at a tipping point that could enable that kind of experience, it was time to get to work.

The proceeding rounds of research, building, testing, and refinement resulted in what is now known as Scenic Audio. With its launch, accessibility has been reinterpreted to encompass more than basic information, and the romance and wonder of a road trip can now be experienced by all.

The misty rain adds a sheen on the sidewalks as we catch glimpses of red brick and the iconic baseball signage. Even with the trees bare, there’s a charm to the historic architecture and the Fenway green that stands out against the overcast backdrop.

It feels like we’ve traveled right into the heart of Boston baseball history.
